Jericho Covered Bridge, near Jerusalem Mill Village, Maryland

July 3, 2010
Kiara, Carlos and I dropped Little Carlos off at the airport in Baltimore for his summer trip to Florida and decided to take advantage of being on that side of Maryland to go in search of one of the weird destinations we had been wanting to visit--the Jericho Bridge. This bridge was an interesting location for us for two reasons, one being that it is a covered bridge, which makes it interesting from the historic aspect, and also because it is rumored to be haunted.

Jericho Bridge was built in 1865 over the Little Gunpowder Falls. Legend goes that the bridge is haunted by the spirits of people who were hanged from the upper rafters during lynchings that took place around the time of the civil war. It is said that if you enter the covered bridge in your automobile at night and look behind you in your rear view mirror you will be able to see the form of someone hanging behind you.

Now, we did not go to the bridge after dark, but we did reach the bridge about 6:00 p.m. and ended up with some very interesting photographs.

This photo shows the bridge from the outside road. But upon closer inspection, an orb is detected on the right inside of the bridge (see photo 2).

Another interesting photo was snapped inside the covered bridge looking up towards the rafters.

Well, these are the photos we documented on our trip out to the Jericho Bridge. It was a beautiful area and we plan to visit it again soon and try to get more strange photos! Our travels to weird and wonderful places to be continued!
